Clear Destination

As a UI Designer at a web agency, I worked with the Art Director to refresh the interface of a delivery management platform, simplifying cluttered layouts and confusing navigation to make tasks like route planning, delivery tracking, and operations management more intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly.
Role – UI Designer
Team – Sole Designer and Art Director
Duration – 3 months
Tools – Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop

Key Outcomes & Results

Simplifying navigation for essential features by redesigning the interface to help drivers and managers access key functions more easily, improving efficiency and reducing friction.
Faster task completion through streamlined UI by optimizing the interface to minimize friction in task completion and route management, enabling quicker updates and deliveries.
Enhancing delivery performance by redesigning workflows to improve efficiency, helping drivers and managers complete tasks faster and boost overall delivery outcomes.
Understanding the Problem
The delivery app’s interface was confusing and fragmented, slowing drivers and managers from completing tasks and accessing critical features such as route management and status updates.
My Design Process
Aligning on Layouts and UI Direction
Collaborated closely with the Art Director to explore visual direction, layout patterns, and interface styles.
Low-Fidelity Wireframes for Task Flows
Translated the requirements into low-fidelity wireframes, mapping how users would move through tasks.
My Design Contributions
Real-Time Delivery Tracking
Designed a real-time tracking feature that let customers see their delivery status, including estimated arrival, driver location, and progress. This improved transparency, reduced uncertainty, and helped customers plan their day, increasing satisfaction and trust in the service.

Personalized Delivery Scheduling

Designed a flexible delivery options feature that lets customers choose time slots or pickup locations, providing a more personalized and convenient service that improves satisfaction and loyalty.

Feedback-Driven Service Improvements
Implemented a customer survey module to capture user needs and preferences. This made it easy for customers to provide feedback, giving the team valuable insights to improve the service and inform future decisions.
Delivery Management App for Drivers
The delivery management app was designed for drivers, focusing on efficiency, real-time updates, and clear navigation. It provides step-by-step instructions, optimized routes, and communication tools, helping drivers stay organized, reduce stress, and complete deliveries faster and more accurately.

Key Learnings

The platform was used on specific model phones by dispatchers and drivers, so I learned how important it is to design interfaces optimized for their screen size, touch interactions, and real-world usage. I also strengthened my skills in simplifying complex workflows, creating consistent visual patterns, and improving navigation so users could complete tasks quickly and efficiently.
